Baker

Assist customers and bake products. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities

Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service

Provide customer service

Prepare for store opening

Prepare bakery product for morning sales

Prepare frozen product for afternoon and next day sales

Bake bread product for afternoon and next day sales

Bake croissants, cookies, pies, and cinnamon rolls

Perform housekeeping duties in department

Maintain production records

Tag product

Perform backup functions for counter person

Make public announcements regarding specials, ads, new items, and fresh bakes

Stock/restock shelves, displays, and other merchandising areas

Answer telephones

Comply with corporate policies

Understand and take orders for cakes

Promote and follow Company initiatives

Comply to all safety guidelines and standards

Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum

High school diploma or general education degree; or combination of relevant education and experience.

Minimum 18 years of age

Ability to pass drug test

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis and overtime as needed

Accuracy/attention to detail

Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects

Familiarity with bakery terms and processes

Ability to work within set time frames/fixed deadlines

Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license

Any licenses or certificates required by federal and/or state

Desired

Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure

Food service experience

Baking experience

Customer service experience

Related retail experience
