Security Clearance Type: None/Not Required | Security Clearance Status: Not Required What You Will Do Perform inspection of wire harnesses, electrical parts and mechanical assemblies using microscope or unaided eye. May use equipment to perform test to ensure product is built per specification. Uses appropriate documentation and selects proper inspection methods required, fulfilling both military and quality requirements. Record inspection results. Must be able to report inspection or audit results verbally and in written format. Determines and communicates results to affected individuals. Prepare reports and summaries. Draws attention to important items and actual or potential problems and assists in developing solutions. Check for work correctness and ensure proper records are maintained. Must be able to read and comprehend parts list, manufacturing drawings, workmanship standards, wiring diagrams or schematics, engineering change notices, manufacturer's specifications, and contractual requirements. Experience in utilizing inspection instruments is preferred. Understand manufacturing processes and capable of auditing them. Some TQM, ISO, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma exposure preferred. Understand concepts of variation and need for continuous improvement. Understands and performs all job duties in accordance with the appropriate operating procedures/instructions related to all environmental/safety requirements and regulations governing the work area within an individual’s classification. Good writing skills and penmanship, verbal communication and computer skills are a must. Position may require standing or sitting for long periods of time, walking, bending, stooping and must be able to lift 50lbs. Qualifications Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience. Experience with either manufacturing or assembly. Valid state driver’s license is preferred. Analytical, interactive, and computer literacy skills. All personnel must follow all safety rules and guidelines during performance of job duties. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Windows 95 or newer, and database/test software. Ability to understand and follow written instructions. Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced work environment. Customer-focused individual, well organized and capable of multi-tasking and working independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish common goals and provide status as needed.
