Medical Assistant-Ancillary Technician

Job Description Medical Assistant / Ancillary Technician (Cross-Trained) Be Well Primary Care is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Medical Assistant who is interested in being cross-trained to support Ancillary Services. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care, learning new clinical skills, and working in a fast-paced primary care environment. The Medical Assistant / Ancillary Technician will support providers with both direct patient care and ancillary testing and procedures. This is a full-time position within a growing primary care practice. Travel between clinic locations may be required based on operational needs. About Be Well Primary Care Be Well Primary Care currently operates five clinic locations in Alliance, Azle, Bridgeport, Denton, and Keller. We are continuing to grow and anticipate opening two additional locations in Saginaw and Argyle in the coming months. This role may ask that you travel to other clinic locations as needed and offers opportunities for growth as the organization expands. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaints Assist providers during patient visits and procedures Perform EKGs, ear irrigations, nebulizer treatments, spirometry, WAVi brain scans, allergy testing, and vaccinations following training and established protocols Support and administer ancillary services as assigned Provide patient education regarding procedures, treatments, and follow-up care Accurately document all patient interactions, procedures, and results in the EMR (eClinicalWorks) Follow provider instructions and complete documentation in a timely manner Schedule diagnostic tests and procedures and ensure proper follow-up Process referrals and coordinate care as needed Prepare charts in advance of patient visits, including insurance verification and required documentation Send orders, prescriptions, and messages as directed by providers Complete required forms, logs, and paperwork accurately and on time Demonstrate understanding of medical terminology, diagnoses, and CPT coding Identify patients who may benefit from ancillary services and assist with coordination Maintain a clean, safe, and professional clinical environment Follow all infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines Provide support to other clinic locations when needed Qualifications Medical Assistant experience preferred Primary care experience required High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with EMR systems, eClinicalWorks preferred Experience with EKGs, vaccinations, nebulizer treatments, or ancillary testing preferred but not required Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities Attention to detail and accuracy Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment Schedule and Compensation Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Compensation based on experience, generally ranging from $16.00 to $22.00 per hour Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Physical and Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods Ability to lift and move medical equipment as needed May involve exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and medical equipment Be Well Primary Care is an equal opportunity employer.
