Quality Assurance Coordinator - Sterile ProcessingThis position requires the following:8-hour Night ShiftExperience Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sterile Processing TechnicianAt least one successful travel contractMinimum of 2 years in quality assurance, staff education, or supervisory rolesResponsibilities:Monitor the workflow, quality, and daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD)Perform daily process and quality tray audits and document results in the tracking systemOversee staff competencies, providing training, coaching, and re-education as necessaryTrain new hires and assist with annual competency assessmentsMaintain accurate quality and event reporting, including internal and external quality eventsDemonstrate proficiency with the instrument tracking system ensuring audits are documented for traceabilityMonitor routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issuesAdhere to SPD policies, guidelines, and manufacturer's instructions (IFUs), as well as load-failure proceduresPromote compliance with AAMI, Joint Commission, and hospital standardsSupport the implementation of process improvements to enhance patient safety and operational efficiencyCommunicate effectively with management, supervisors, and quality/education leadershipSubmit detailed daily reports and respond promptly to communicationsAttend meetings and support ongoing quality improvement initiativesLicense/Certification Requirements:Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST or CBSPDT)Expertise in Sterile Processing, AAMI standards, Joint Commission regulations, and Infection PreventionExperience with electronic health record systems, specifically EpicAdditional Requirements:No floating requiredNo weekend work requiredNo holiday obligationsOrientation for this position includes:6 hours, with 3 hours being non-billableThis role is based in [City, State], with multiple locations within the region.
