Marketing Technology Manager

Summary

The Marketing Technology Manager is responsible for the strategy, development, design and content management of the Firm’s marketing technology infrastructure. The Manager will evaluate all of the technology infrastructure and manage new implementations and upgrades to the CRM, experience management platform, digital marketing program, SEO and GEO initiatives external website, as necessary. This is a high-profile position that reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. The role requires the execution of all projects, particularly with data and content, with a high degree of consistency and accuracy.

Job Duties

The following are essential job duties and responsibilities of the Marketing Technology Manager. This list is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Develop project plan for and manage implementation and adoption of new CRM.
  • Complete the implementation and manage the rollout of new experience management system.
  • Act as consultant, strategic director, and idea generator for all marketing technology platforms, ultimately optimizing usage, enhancing Firm brand and content distribution and achieving goals of marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Keep current with existing and emerging technologies as well as online marketing techniques and trends, particularly among professional services firms.
  • Manage relationship with the Firm’s website vendor, including implementation of technology and troubleshooting. Manage and consult on branding updates as related to web design and functionality. Identify, develop and execute enhancements to the Firm’s website.
  • Using web, email and other analytics tools, establish, monitor and report on key metrics measuring effectiveness of the Firm’s web properties and other marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development Director and Managers in leading efforts to improve SEO in key practices, consistent with Firm goals and practice initiatives.
  • Understand all marketing technology platforms and assist with maintenance and enhancements to functionality and design, and with user support.
  • Interface with and serve as point person for Firm administrative departments regarding web-related and CRM related needs, providing user training and guidance on leveraging the Firm’s external site.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development Director and Managers to assess and analyze the digital marketing and social media needs of the Firm’s practices and attorneys, identify content requirements and translate this information into the most effective format for online communication.
  • Act as departmental point person with IT Department to develop technical analysis for projects, including preparing and maintaining project documentation, test plans, audit documentation, corrective action plans, and business process maps.
  • Provide technical support, training and coaching to users of the marketing systems.
  • Help develop and maintain training plans and materials.

Requirements

Education: Bachelors’ degree preferred or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience: Five or more years of experience in a professional services organization, preferably a law firm.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in large scale systems implementations, including research of market-leading solutions, drafting detailed project plans, user interviews, and firmwide adoption.
  • In-depth knowledge of website, SEO and interconnected database functionality (experience management, pitch generation based on existing content, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical information and instructions and communicate that information to others.
  • Strong client service focus, with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution and follow-through skills.
  • Computer proficient with excellent technology skills.
  • Solid understanding and experience with information architecture and user-centered design.
  • Superior editing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, staff, and outside contacts. In addition, maintain effective relationships with vendors and consultants.
  • Proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills. Exhibit high degree of initiative and critical-thinking skills in exercising independent judgment in order to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detailed-oriented work environment, and make decisions based upon results of research.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic in order to conduct detailed analysis and administration of the Firm’s website and intranet and coordinate and implement national and local marketing initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational skills including record keeping, data collection, and system information. Ability to compile and analyze complex data and furnish concise, detailed information in report format, written correspondence, e-mail, or verbally.

Essential Physical/Mental Demands

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and to operate office equipment, e.g., computers.
