Location: Tampa, FL
Shift: 3rd Shift (Overnight)

Infra-Metals is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our team on 3rd shift. This position is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and moving inventory throughout the facility using heavy-capacity forklift equipment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Job Function

• Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  
  • Operate forklifts to lift, move, position, and relocate steel and other heavy materials to designated stock areas.
  • Load and unload trailers and/or railroad cars safely and efficiently.
  • Drive and operate forklifts in a variety of warehouse conditions and confined spaces.
  • Record and report inventory location changes according to established procedures using the inventory management system and/or required paperwork.
  • Log and tag received inventory in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assemble customer orders based on work orders and shipping requirements.
  • Record pertinent material information on work orders, inventory documents, and other forms as required by management.
  • Perform work within established standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with multiple warehouse departments and team members to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant attention to the safety of oneself and others.
  • Demonstrate initiative by proactively seeking work and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute as an enthusiastic team player.
  • Support and promote a workplace culture built on respect, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Work overtime and weekends as assigned based on business needs.
  • Perform other warehouse-related duties as needed due to staffing shortages, employee absences, or workload demands.
  • Assist with special projects and other assignments as directed by management.

Required Skills

• Qualifications & Preferred Experience
  
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write in English.
  • Previous experience operating heavy-capacity forklifts preferred.
  • Material handling experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a steel, metals, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.
