OSF ITEMS OF NOTE: - Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-$25 to regular and OT bill rates) - OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift - Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION: - Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN - Clinician's middle initial - Requested time off - Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated - Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels Department: Med-Surg RN - # Beds: 22 West hallway, 23 south - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:4-6 staffed by acuity - Required certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Sepsis, CHF, stroke, wounds, trach, chest tubes, hypoxia, pneumonia, tube feedings, post-surgicals - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must be familiar with NG tubes, drains, feeding tubes, & tube feedings - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No - Is there a Charge Nurse &/or House Supervisor on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge nurse - free charge - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit?: CNAs/PCTs - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: No vents. Bipap, High flow, Airvo. Nurses do not titrate the O2. - Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Phillips tele that are monitored by monitor techs in ICU. There are monitors on the unit if able to read the strips. - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 12Hr shifts, 12Hr shifts - 630a-7p, 630p-7a. Do allow block scheduling - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Days: Saturday/Sunday; Nights: Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday - Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday. Holidays are - Days: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day; Nights: Memorial Day Eve, July 3rd, Labor Day Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: No - Floating Requirements: Do not float, would remain on the unit - Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?: Navy blue - Unit/Department specific orientation: 2 shifts with a preceptor & with educator, 3rd shift with own team Date Entered: 8/4/2025
