Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care (ICU/ED) and 2 years in PACU License: Minnesota nursing license required; temporary license accepted if applied for permanent license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Two years of critical care experience (ICU/ED) - Two years of PACU experience - ICU critical care experience - Previous travel experience - Epic experience - Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms - Experience with pediatric and geriatric patient populations - Trauma Level I experience Description: The Registered Staff Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to customers and families. The focus is on independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions as described in standards and competencies specific to the assigned service area. The scope of practice may include the care of individuals throughout the life cycle. The RN executes the Standards of Nursing Practice including assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN develops and revises the customer's plan of care, coordinates care among disciplines, and delegates activities to other customer care providers as appropriate. The RN participates in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices. Through active participation in practice and by implementing personal leadership qualities and skills, the RN defines, implements, and improves practice standards and the environment of care, promoting remarkable customer care. Variation in duties may occur based on the assigned customer care unit, which may include differences in the specific clinical skills required of the RN. Unit-based skill lists outline expectations beyond the house-wide RN requirements. A temporary nursing license will be accepted as long as an application for a permanent license has been submitted and the temporary license is available at the time of submittal.
