Kelly® is hiring Receiving Quality Control Inspectors for a direct-hire opportunity at a brand-new electronics manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented quality professional with electronic and mechanical inspection experience who wants to help establish strong quality processes within a growing operation.

In this role, you will inspect incoming materials, electronic components, mechanical parts, subassemblies, and in-process products. You’ll use precision measuring and electronic testing equipment, review technical documentation, prepare inspection reports, and work with production, engineering, and suppliers to investigate quality concerns and support corrective improvements.

Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday; specific hours to be determined
Pay: $21.50–$23.50 per hour, based on experience
Work Environment: Fully onsite

What You’ll Be Doing

• Perform incoming, in-process, and product inspections involving electronic and mechanical components.

• Inspect electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi-Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical parts.

• Inspect incoming raw materials, purchased components, subassemblies, and finished products.

• Conduct fit checks and verify that parts meet dimensional, visual, functional, and documentation requirements.

• Perform First Article Inspections on components and subassemblies.

• Use calipers, micrometers, microscopes, multimeters, gauges, and other inspection tools.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, schematics, and part documentation.

• Review basic PCB and printed wiring assembly documentation.

• Determine whether parts and components are acceptable, nonconforming, or require additional evaluation.

• Verify that the appropriate inspection methods, procedures, and tooling are used.

• Prepare accurate incoming and in-process inspection reports.

• Maintain quality records, inspection results, traceability documentation, and supporting files.

• Identify defects, anomalies, failures, and process concerns.

• Assist with investigating quality issues and communicating findings to quality, production, engineering, and suppliers.

• Support recommendations for corrective actions, process changes, and product improvements.

• Communicate inspection concerns promptly to help prevent nonconforming materials from moving through production.

• Perform other quality-control and inspection duties as assigned.

This Position May Be a Great Fit If You

• Have a high school diploma or GED.

• Have at least one year of electronic-part or electronics-manufacturing inspection experience.

• Have experience using calipers, micrometers, microscopes, multimeters, or similar inspection equipment.

• Can read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and part specifications.

• Are comfortable reviewing basic PCB and printed wiring assembly documentation.

• Can maintain clear, complete, and accurate inspection records.

• Have excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Can manage several inspections, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

• Communicate effectively with quality, production, engineering, and supplier personnel.

• Are comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.

• Understand the importance of following approved inspection procedures and quality requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training or certification involving IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or IPC J-STD-001 standards.

• Experience performing First Article Inspections.

• Experience inspecting electronic cables, connectors, PCB assemblies, or mechanical enclosures.

• Familiarity with incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality inspection.

• Experience documenting defects and supporting nonconformance investigations.

• Knowledge of quality-control procedures, traceability, and inspection-report preparation.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Ability to recognize potential quality risks and communicate them before they affect production.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when receiving or moving incoming parts and materials.

• Ability to bend and reach to place or retrieve items from lower and upper shelving.

• Ability to kneel or squat to access lower storage locations.

• Ability to walk and move throughout laboratory, inspection, and production areas.

• Ability to perform detailed visual inspections requiring sustained focus and manual dexterity.

• Comfortable working in an indoor manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to varying temperatures.

Additional Requirements

Due to work performed under U.S. federal contracts, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person, meaning a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
