Environmental Services Assistant I (HM JR93182) - Part Time - 20 Hrs. Weekly/40 Hrs. Biweekly - 7am

The Environmental Services Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of patient care areas, offices, and hospital facilities. This role supports infection prevention efforts and promotes a safe, welcoming environment throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities Clean and sanitize patient rooms, offices, and common areas. Clean and disinfect isolation and precaution rooms in accordance with infection control standards. Collect and dispose of trash, soiled linens, and bulk waste. Maintain adequate supplies of paper products and soap in assigned areas. Keep equipment, carts, and Environmental Services closets clean, organized, and safe. Respond promptly to work assignments and department communications using mobile devices. Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and equipment damage to leadership. Follow all departmental policies, safety procedures, and infection control practices. Attend required training and department meetings. Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and team members. Qualifications High school diploma preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to use smartphones or similar mobile devices for work assignments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Compensation This position has a starting rate of $17.80 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.90 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.93 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
