Base Pay $23.00 - $25.00 / Hour Relocation Expense Covered No Employee Type Non-Exempt Manage Others No Contact information Phone View phone number on click.appcast.io Email View email address on click.appcast.io Description LGBT Network seeks passionate and motivated candidates for a Part-Time, Temporary Testing Specialist, ( Bilingual in English & Spanish) in the Health Promotion Unit , with a focus on the delivery of HIV prevention, testing, and linkage to care services. This position is responsible for two main activities: recruitment for and delivery of HIV services and additional health promotion services. The Testing Specialist works out of the Queens LGBT Community Center (Q-Center) in Astoria, and reports to the Program Manager for Health Promotion. The schedule for this position is 20 hours per week, including weekday and weekend evenings. This is a temporary, part-time position ending on March 31 st 2027. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Delivery of HIV Services Deliver HIV/STD testing through center drop-in, at off-site community events, and mobile testing (HIV/STD testing experience is not required as training is provided) Conduct targeted outreach to people at risk for HIV, people living with HIV, and other special populations in the LGBT Community (with a strong focus on engaging young transgender people of color) through community, street, and digital/online efforts; Conduct follow-up and program promotion face-to-face, via virtual, phone, e-mail, and text platforms with the goal of engaging more people in Health Promotion Services Additional Health Promotion Services & Other Responsibilities Connect people to medical services, medical coverage, and other services to address any needs that adversely affect their health Deliver supplies for condom distribution to the community Assist in the preparation and facilitation of assigned group programs including, but not limited to, regularly scheduled weekly and monthly programs, social events, cultural activities, and one-time special events Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualification Requirements: Bilingual in English and Spanish required HIV/STI testing certifications preferred but not required. Training is provided.
