Our mission is to be invaluable to our partners (clients, vendors, industry, and employees) so they cannot imagine success without us, by providing comfortable, reliable and efficient mechanical systems that meet our partners' needs.HVAC Ductwork, HVAC Piping & Plumbing Quality Control Representative Position OverviewYearout Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC Ductwork, HVAC Piping & Plumbing Quality Control Representative to support mechanical construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring HVAC, piping, plumbing, and related mechanical systems are installed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company quality standards.The Quality Control Representative serves as the primary quality resource for assigned projects, performing inspections, coordinating testing and commissioning activities, reviewing technical documentation, and proactively identifying and resolving quality issues. This position works closely with project management, field personnel, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and general contractors to support successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control & InspectionsDevelop and implement project-specific Quality Control Plans.Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and contract documents to identify quality requirements.Conduct field inspections of HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, plumbing systems, equipment installations, supports, seismic bracing, firestopping, and related mechanical work.Verify compliance with project specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, company standards, and applicable codes.Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.Testing, Commissioning & DocumentationCoordinate and witness testing and commissioning activities, including pressure testing, duct leakage testing, TAB, start-up, and functional performance testing.Maintain inspection logs, testing records, deficiency logs, and daily quality reports.Document findings through written reports and photographs.Support project closeout activities and turnover documentation.Project CoordinationCollaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, and Commissioning Agents.Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BIM models, submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation.Participate in coordination meetings and support resolution of quality concerns throughout project execution.Continuous ImprovementIdentify recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements.Support development of company quality standards and installation best practices.Assist with quality training and mentoring of field personnel.Desired Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred.7+ years of commercial or industrial mechanical construction experience.3+ years in a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or field leadership role.Experience with healthcare, laboratory, industrial, manufacturing, mission-critical, or similar complex facilities preferred.Technical KnowledgeStrong understanding of:HVAC systems and air distributionMechanical piping systemsPlumbing systemsEquipment installation and commissioningConstruction drawings and specificationsIndustry codes and standards, including IMC, IPC, IBC, SMACNA, ASHRAE, NFPA, and OSHA requirementsSoftware SkillsExperience with:ProcoreAutodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM 360Bluebeam RevuMicrosoft Office SuiteMicrosoft TeamsProfessional SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and documentation abilitiesAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsRoot cause analysis and conflict resolution abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced construction environmentsAdditional NotesThis position requires frequent work on active construction sites and the ability to walk sites, climb ladders, work in varying weather conditions, and wear required PPE.Success MeasuresPerformance may be measured by:First-time inspection pass ratesReduced punch list and rework itemsQuality documentation accuracySuccessful testing and commissioning outcomesCustomer satisfactionOn-time project turnoverCompliance with project quality requirementsOther duties may be assigned as needed to support project delivery and organizational objectives.
