Position Description: RN Registered Charge Nurse - Surgical unit

BayCare Health System is currently seeking a Registered Charge Nurse to join our outstanding and compassionate Medical/Surgical - Surgical unit team at St. Joseph's Hospital - North.

The Registered Charge Nurse responsibilities include:

• Proficiency in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills.
• Acting as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team.
• Professional accountability and development.
• Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse.
• Acting as a mentor and resource expert.

Qualifications:

Certifications and Licensures:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required
• RN (Registered Nurse) license is required
• ACLS Certification if required by department
• RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion in lieu of education. Certification must be RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice on the approved Clinical Registered Nurse Certifications Grid.
• Nurse Specialty certification is preferred

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Nursing, BS in a healthcare related field, or RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification is required within 7 months of hire/promotion

Experience:

2 years of RN experience is required

1 year of leadership experience is preferred

Shift Hours: 6:15 PM - 6:45 AM

Shift: Nights
