Vice President of Sales

This role can be based in the this Greater Minneapolis-Saint Paul area or Greater Madison Wisconsin area. The Opportunity We're hiring a VP of Sales to lead our commercial growth strategy. This is a highly technical consultative sales leadership role. You're not selling a commodity, you're selling an engineered solution to customers who need a manufacturing partner capable of solving complex design-for-manufacturability, materials, and reliability challenges. The right person will split their time across three priorities: building & leading a high-performing sales team, winning new logos in target verticals, and expanding wallet share within our existing customer base. What You'll Do Team Leadership : Build, coach, and manage a sales team, establishing pipeline discipline, forecasting rigor, and a repeatable sales process as the organization scales Strategic Planning : Partner with operations, quality, and executive leadership to align sales strategy with plant capacity, certifications, and long-term growth goals New Business Development : Identify, pursue, and close new customer relationships in defense, aerospace, and medical end markets, building a qualified pipeline of programs that fit our capabilities and certifications Account Growth : Deepen relationships with existing customers to expand program awards, capture more of their PCB/EMS spend, and identify adjacent opportunities across their product lines Technical Selling : Engage directly with customer engineering, quality, and procurement teams to translate technical requirements into winning proposals. Credibility in EMS, PCB assembly processes, and regulated-industry manufacturing is essential Market Positioning : Represent Pro-Active Engineering at industry trade shows, customer visits, and technical conferences What We're Looking For 10+ years of sales experience in EMS, PCB assembly, or a related contract manufacturing/engineered products environment Proven track record of hunting and closing new logos in a long-cycle, technical B2B sales environment Experience growing revenue within existing accounts, not just landing new ones Familiarity with ITAR, AS9100, and/or Nadcap environments and the compliance-driven sales cycles they involve Sales leadership or management experience is a must Comfort operating in a hands-on, entrepreneurial, sponsor-backed environment where you own the results Strong technical fluency Why Join Lead sales strategy for a certified, mission-critical manufacturer with a strong reputation across multiple verticals Opportunity to build a team and sales process from a position of real influence, not just execute someone else's playbook High ownership role with direct visibility to executive leadership and Tide Rock Compensation We encourage candidates to apply even if they fall outside the posted pay range.
