Cyber Software Engineer, Senior Advisor

Responsibilities Peraton is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD! In this role, you will have the opportunity to support a program that provides Cyber Security and Data Management to critical Intelligence Community missions. Our software engineers are responsible for, but not limited to, the below tasks: Implements, tests, and operates advanced software security techniques in compliance with technical reference architecture Performs on-going security testing and code review to improve software security Troubleshoots and debugs issues that arise Provides engineering designs for new software solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities Contributes to all levels of the architecture and maintains technical documentation Consults team members on secure coding practices Develops a familiarity with new tools and best practices. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required Twenty (20) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent 8 years developing production software. Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful Service. Familiarity with cloud development techniques, resources, and tools. Core Competencies and Skills: Experience in agile software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, problem diagnosis/resolution, and source code management practices & tools. Experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++ for distributed systems, with proficiency in networking, multi-threading and implementation of REST APIs. Experience with the Spring framework, messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ), streaming analytics (Apache Flink, Spark), management of containerized applications (Kubernetes). Experience with enabling tools (Git, Maven, Jira), DevOps (Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI/Pipelines), Continuous Monitoring (ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana), Nagios). Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo and Apache NiFi. Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, BASH, etc.). Experience with AWS Cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud security, and Automation (AWS Lambda, CloudFormation). Target Salary Range $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
