After School Site Assistant

Position Summary: We are looking for dedicated K-5 After School Program Site Assistants at JFK, Discovery, Oscar Howe, Pettigrew, and Hayward Elementary Schools for the 2026/2027 school year. The Site Assistant will help ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment, assist with behavior management, active supervision, and classroom activities. Responsibilities Support the Site Coordinator in implementing daily lessons and activities. Assist with behavior management using positive reinforcement and redirection strategies. Ensure the safety and supervision of all children at all times. Help facilitate transitions between activities and ensure the schedule runs smoothly. Encourage participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment for all students. Help with classroom organization, setup, and cleanup to maintain a structured learning space. Communicate effectively with staff members to ensure smooth program operations. Model professionalism and enthusiasm, setting a positive example for students. Qualifications Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting is preferred. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to assist in managing student behaviors and reinforcing positive expectations. Comfortable supporting field trip activities and ensuring child safety. Reliable, flexible, and able to step in where needed. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Schedule & Compensation Works 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday–Friday. Starting at $14 for qualified candidates. Part-time.
