Production Technician II

Nova Biomedical is seeking a Production Technician II to support manufacturing operations in Norwood, MA. This role is responsible for manufacturing test kits on the production floor and in the clean room, as well as performing assembly and testing of instruments at the bench using test software. The Production Technician II will read and follow production work instructions, drawings, routings, and bills of material to assemble electrical and mechanical components and products according to work orders and quality procedures. This position will also perform production testing, maintain quality performance, document production or quality issues, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Read assembly drawings and follow detailed instructions in English.
• Assemble and test units in compliance with work instructions and quality procedures.
• Set up, break down, and use various automated machines, filling equipment, labeling equipment, and testing equipment/software as needed.
• Properly and safely use standard hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets, wire cutters, cordless screwdrivers, and crimpers.
• Prepare units for final quality inspection according to current policies and procedures.
• Perform cycle counts in designated work areas as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and organized while actively participating in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
• Assemble, calibrate, and test the majority of product lines, including critical electrical and mechanical components used in production.
• Assist the Service department with occasional instrument repair and/or component assembly and testing.
• Assist Engineering with experimental and prototype builds and provide input to support process and product development.

Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Three to five years of production assembly experience.
• Experience with instrument and sub-assembly build and testing.
• Ability to assemble critical assemblies for instruments.
• Ability to verify and inspect previous builds.
• Ability to train lower-level assemblers and technicians.
• Experience participating in 5S and ESP activities.
• Knowledge of GMP and ISO requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and gauges to properly set up, operate, and troubleshoot related equipment.
• Experience crimping, soldering, and assembling cables and harnesses.

• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to [2550] pounds as required.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, or climb as needed.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., noise, temperature, equipment).
• Ability to operate tools, machinery, or technical equipment.
• Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Work Location: Onsite in our Norwood facility 5 days/week (M-F)

Targeted Salary Range: $24 - $27/hour

Working Hours: 5:30 AM - 02:00 PM
