We're hiring an experienced Structural Fitter for our client! We are looking for dependable, skilled fabrication professionals with strong blueprint reading and structural fitting experience who are ready to interview immediately!
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR DREAM JOB:
Job Title: Structural Fitter
Pay: $22.00–$28.00/hour
Location: East 77015
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–5:30 PM (Overtime available)
Duration: Temp-to-Hire
Description of Duties: Fit and assemble structural steel frameworks using materials including I-beams, angle iron, and steel plate according to blueprints, layouts, and fabrication drawings. Lay out, position, align, and secure components using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, rulers, and other precision measuring instruments. Cut, contour, and bevel steel to specified dimensions; verify grooves, angles, and gap allowances; and accurately burn, measure, fit, and tack weld multiple steel components to complete assemblies. Operate overhead cranes to safely position and move materials while maintaining production, quality, and safety standards.
Requirements: Minimum 3 years of structural fitting experience with the demonstrated ability to perform advanced fitting and fabrication work with minimal supervision. Must be proficient in reading blueprints and fabrication drawings, identifying material sizes, performing layout and measurements, and fitting structural steel components . Candidates should have experience with cutting, burning, beveling, tack welding, and precision measuring tools. Overhead crane experience is required. Must be comfortable working in a fabrication shop environment and performing physical duties including standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting materials up to 45 pounds.
