Learn more at and on LinkedIn and X.Application SW Systems Design EngineerAnalog Devices' Cloud and Data Center Equipment Business Unit is seeking a motivated and experienced Application Engineer / System Design to join our Power System Management Solutions team based in San Jose, California.This role offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading power system management solutions for hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure customers.Operating at the intersection of power electronics, embedded systems, and system-level design, the Application Engineer / System Design will play a key role in evaluating new silicon products, system design, developing system-level solutions and firmware for power management applications, designing and validating evaluation boards, supporting customers throughout the product development lifecycle, and creating high-quality technical documentation.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in power electronics and embedded systems, demonstrated expertise in firmware development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers. This position requires a combination of technical depth and system-level thinking to help drive the successful development and adoption of ADI's power system management solutions.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:• Silicon bench evaluation• Firmware development for power management systems• Design and test evaluation boards with embedded controllers• Generate reference design reports for customers• Review customers' schematics and firmware implementations• Technical writing of datasheet and application notes• Simulations and lab automationMinimum qualifications:• BSEE with 2+ years of experience, or MSEE• Fundamentals on power electronics• Experience with microcontroller-based systems and firmware development• Proficiency in C/C++ programming• Experience with lab equipment• Coding experience in Python or similar scripting languagesPreferred qualifications:• MSEE with 3+ years of experience focused on embedded systems• Knowledge on power management ICs• Strong experience with firmware debugging and development tools• Solid understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design• Experience with hardware debug/troubleshooting• PCB design experience• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills• Simulation tools Simplis or LTSpice or MATLAB• Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB or similar scripting languages• Experience with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, PMBus)For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
