Position: Bus Driver/ Instructional Aide

Responsible To: Campus Director

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

Certification: CDL and Oklahoma Bus Driving Certificate

Experience: School bus driving experience preferred.

Skills: Possess the physical and mental ability to transport students to and from the Technology Center. Able to perform responsibilities on own initiative with minimal supervision including planning, executing, and completing assignments in a timely manner while managing multiple priorities.

Other: Mature, responsible, discreet.

Dependability: Punctual and regular attendance following a designated work schedule. Must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.

Physical/Mental Standards: Able to read, comprehend, and evaluate various documents, regulations, and reference materials. Able to pass yearly physical, including Random Drug and Alcohol testing, as required by Oklahoma State Law. Able to stand for long periods and to move around the campus. Requires stooping, bending, and carrying of such items as books, manuals, files and other job-related items. Emotional Effort: Moderate to extreme. Able to handle high stress situations at peak periods.

Personnel Classification: Support Personnel: 5 hours at BD Salary Schedule + up to 3 hours at Support TAT Salary Schedule; NONEXEMPT

Length of Contract: Up to a 200-day contract (Note: Days beyond 175 are at TAT Schedule)

Primary Function: Driving school bus. Provide education support for District.

Essential Job Functions/General Duties:

• Operation of a school bus transporting students to and from Indian Capital Technology Center
• Transportation of students to and from field trips (occasionally out of town and/or overnight)
• Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with all employees of ICTC
• Maintain a record of and perform light/routine maintenance of the campus fleet of vehicles
• Routinely detail the campus fleet of vehicles
• Perform routine safety inspections of all vehicles
• Ensure vehicles have adequate fuel to meet the transportation needs of bus routes and staff travel
• Keeps up-to-date and comply with State and Federal regulations and District Policies and Procedures
• Compiles information and assists in the preparation of department and district reports required by various agencies
• Respects and maintains the confidentiality of appropriate files and district information
• Participates in periodic evaluations of own performance with Director
• Assists custodial and maintenance staff as needed or requested
• Assists with class coverage during faculty absences
• To support the instructional staff in a professional manner
• Serve as an instructional coach or tutor for students in the assigned area
• Maintains and enhances professional competence through participation in professional activities
• Yard maintenance and other general labor items as needed in the summer or at other times
• Performs such other duties and assumes such other responsibilities as may be required to accomplish the essential job functions as directed by the Director

It is expected for employee to be on time each workday as this is essential to the employee's job. Other jobs/tasks as described and requested by administrator.

External: Assists and communicates with students, other organization personnel and clients in a pleasant, friendly and sociable manner.
