Lab Blood TechnicianThis is a temporary position available for immediate hire. Role: Lab Blood Technician Location: Bartlesville, Oklahoma Shift: 3rd shift – 6:30pm to 7am, includes weekends Anticipated timeframe: 3 months Employee benefits providedMinimum of 2 years of relevant experience requiredOverview: The primary duty of a lab blood technician is to support in carrying out a variety of assigned tasks, troubleshooting, training, and proposing workflow improvements.Key Responsibilities:Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, maintenance record keeping, decontamination, updating patient records, and more. Proper collection and storage of specimens following specified protocols. Clearly explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients. Demonstrate proper techniques using various types of needles. Match requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test orders. Verify accuracy of all test requisitions against scripts. Prepare specimens for transport and ensure proper storage and handling. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, attend department trainings, and assist with inquiries regarding lab results.Minimum Requirements: Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, with at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience
