Carroll University seeks to hire an Adjunct Instructor of Criminal Justice for Spring 2027.


Course: CRJ150 | Tactical Communication I (2 Credits)

Section A: Wednesday, 6:00 - 9:35 PM, 8-Week Session

Tactical communication is the study and use of communication skills that deescalate adverse situations leading to a safer community and justice system. This course examines how lived experiences, environmental factors, and neurobiology processes shape human behavior-particularly within justice-involved contexts. Students will develop a deeper understanding of how trauma, stress, and systemic influences impact decision-making. Students will explore how interpersonal skills and communication can either reinforce or reduce harm.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in discipline.


The College: The College of Arts and Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through seven departments - Communication and Sociology; Computational and Physical Sciences; English, Modern Languages and Philosophy; History, Political Sciences and Religious Studies; Life Sciences; and Visual and Performing Arts.
