Job DescriptionJob Description Key Responsibilities: Production & Operations ManagementOversee daily operations of SDSM and After Paint production areasEnsure production schedules are met in alignment with customer demand and delivery targetsMonitor workflow, labor utilization, and equipment performance to optimize efficiencyCoordinate with upstream and downstream departments to maintain smooth production flowIdentify and resolve production bottlenecks, downtime, and quality issuesQuality & Compliance:Ensure all products meet internal and customer quality standardsImplement and enforce standardized work practices and process controlsPartner with Quality Assurance to address defects, root causes, and corrective actionsMaintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standardsSafety Leadership:Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all shiftsConduct regular safety audits, training, and incident investigationsEnsure adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelinesDrive proactive risk identification and mitigationTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop production supervisors, leads, and hourly employeesSet clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide feedbackSupport workforce planning, staffing, and training initiativesFoster employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement mindsetContinuous ImprovementDrive lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, standard work, waste reduction)Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunitiesLead cross-functional improvement projects to enhance productivity and reduce costImplement best practices for after-paint finishing processesCost & Performance ManagementManage labor and operating costs within budget targetsTrack and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:On-time deliveryFirst-pass yieldScrap/rework ratesProductivity metricsSupport capital planning and equipment improvement initiativesCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply ChainCommunicate production status, risks, and improvement plans to leadershipParticipate in daily production meetings and escalation processes Role Requirements: Experience in finishing, after-paint, detailing, or similar production processes Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with SDSM, paint finishing, or surface preparation processesSix Sigma or Lean certification Physical demands: This role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional climbing, as well as lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance. Work may include pushing or pulling equipment, using tools, and operating a computer. Occasional driving to job sites is required, and exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions is common.
