Dental Assistant 1 or 2LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry Oral Surgery Department is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Dental Assistant 1 or 2 in our Baton Rouge location.Minimum Qualifications: No experience or training required.Job Specification: The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties and Other Information: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assist dentist and dental students with chair side treatment of patientsMaintain and stock cabinetInstruct and evaluate students in proper four-handed dentistry techniquesChart patients according to LSUSD systems (Axium/WinOMS Computer knowledge)Give follow-up home instructions as directed by the surgeon, resident, or studentImplement and maintain infection control in the work area.Check inventory and order supplies when needed.Implement and follow safety guidelines as set forth by LSUHSC School of Dentistry and OSHA.Know dental and surgical terminology.Know correct nomenclature of all dental instrumentsKnowledgeable of computers.The candidate applying should possess the following core competencies: Communicating effectively: Effectively The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.
