Head of Enterprise Data Protection & Governance

Team & Context The Enterprise Data Protection and Governance team is part of the Protect Pillar within the Systems organization. The Protect Pillar is designed for clear, centralized accountability, addressing physical and logical security risks, safeguarding stakeholder assets, and responding to security events. Role and Responsibilities Establish and implement the strategic direction of BBH’s data protection and governance program. Oversee enterprise‑wide initiatives to protect data from unintended exfiltration (Data Loss Prevention Program), destroy data no longer required (Data Destruction Program), enhance classification (Data Classification and Discovery Program), and set minimum firm‑wide data integrity and availability standards (Data Governance Program). Report regularly on key metrics, risks, and program maturity to oversight committees. Build and lead a high‑performing team of professionals. Coordinate and respond to internal audit reviews. Partner with stakeholders across the Protect Pillar, Systems, business, Risk, OGC, and Compliance to implement data protection and governance objectives. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience in data protection and information security, preferably within financial services. 5+ years of leadership experience managing cross‑functional global teams. Strong knowledge of DLP tools, data classification platforms, and secure destruction standards. Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy regulations and associated risks. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. Compensation Base salary: NJ: $215,000–$260,000; MA: $215,000–$260,000, plus annual target bonus. Total rewards include discretionary bonuses and profit‑sharing.
