Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for leading and optimizing all operational functions across multiple manufacturing facilities. This executive will drive operational excellence, productivity, quality, safety, supply chain performance, and profitability while supporting the company's strategic growth objectives. The COO will partner closely with ownership and executive leadership to develop and execute business strategies that enhance efficiency, customer satisfaction, and long-term enterprise value.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with experience managing multi-site operations, continuous improvement initiatives, workforce development, and scalable growth within a component manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Direct all manufacturing operations across multiple facilities, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer requirements.
Develop and execute operational strategies that improve productivity, quality, throughput, and profitability.
Establish performance metrics and accountability systems to monitor operational effectiveness.
Drive standardization of best practices across all locations.
Manufacturing Excellence
Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies.
Optimize production scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and cost reduction.
Ensure facilities consistently meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.
Supply Chain & Procurement
Oversee procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance.
Develop strategies to reduce supply chain risks and improve material availability.
Establish strong vendor relationships to support operational and financial goals.
Financial Performance
Manage operational budgets, capital expenditures, and cost-control initiatives.
Analyze operational KPIs and financial results to identify opportunities for improved margins.
Partner with finance leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
Drive initiatives that improve EBITDA and overall business performance.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.
Champion a culture of quality, safety, and accountability throughout the organization.
Oversee quality management systems and customer compliance requirements.
Lead corrective action and risk mitigation efforts when necessary.
Leadership & Talent Development
Build, mentor, and develop high-performing operational leadership teams.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and employee engagement.
Drive succession planning and leadership development across all operational functions.
Partner with HR to support workforce planning and organizational growth.
Strategic Growth
Support acquisitions, integrations, facility expansions, and new product introductions.
Evaluate operational capabilities to support business growth objectives.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, finance, and executive leadership to align operations with customer and market demands.

Qualifications:

Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or related field required.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience
15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
7+ years in a senior executive role overseeing multiple manufacturing facilities.
Proven experience in component manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, precision manufacturing, or related industries.
Demonstrated success leading large-scale operational improvement initiatives.
Experience working within privately owned, family-owned, or entrepreneurial manufacturing organizations preferred.
