Details Float pool role covering acute care and telemetry units, including Behavioral Health and Respite Patient population includes ortho/neuro-stroke and cardiac telemetry patients High volume of ortho floors utilizing peripheral nerve catheters Patient ratio of 1:4-5 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30 Every other weekend required, with flexibility requested Floats within scope to meet facility needs, may split 12-hour shift between two units No on-call requirements Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, ideally in MS/Tele or stepdown in a Level I or II trauma facility Minimum of 1 prior travel contract required, no first-time travelers accepted Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must pass a fill-in-the-blank telemetry proficiency exam at orientation Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required Experience with insulin drip titration required Strong ortho and neuro clinical skills required Level II Trauma experience required, Level I Trauma experience preferred BSN preferred Epic charting experience preferred but not required Additional Information Provide float coverage across MS/Tele, ortho trauma, cardiovascular, and endocrine/metabolic units Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and pre/post neurosurgical care Facility prefers to avoid scheduling travel pairs RTO cannot be requested during orientation week and should be kept to a minimum No Christmas RTO permitted; must work 2 of 3 major holidays with 1 eligible for time off Scrubs may be any solid color; unit also provides light blue scrubs COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction Prior UW/Harborview staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a traveler First-time travelers will not be considered for this role American Traveler Job ID P-749665.
