Anticipated Start Date March 2026 Position Summary The Advanced Manufacturing Technology Instructor teaches courses in applied computer use, mathematics, blueprint reading and setup, calibration, and operation of complex machine tools. The instructor provides classroom lecture and hands‑on precision machining instruction, and may develop curriculum to meet workforce needs. Job Duties Instruction planning and preparation: prepare course materials, syllabi, and instruction outlines to address student learning needs; be prepared for lectures and shop demonstrations. Classroom and shop instruction: deliver instruction that results in progressive student learning. Student records: accurately record and report student performance. Program planning, development, and oversight: assess industry interest in programs, assist in design and development of associate degree and certificate courses. Additional duties: attend convocation, commencement ceremonies; serve on committees and task forces; attend committee meetings, staff gatherings, and professional meetings, including evenings or weekends when required. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma (or equivalent) and ten (10) or more years of manufacturing technology industry experience; or High school diploma and five (5) or more years of manufacturing technology industry experience plus CSCU community college advanced manufacturing technology certificate or nationally recognized credential (e.g., NIMS, AWS, MSSC); or Associate's Degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and five (5) or more years of manufacturing technology industry experience. Demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities: Professional competence in assigned advanced manufacturing subject disciplines. Academic and practical instruction techniques and methodologies. Student testing and evaluation. Candidates must possess proven ability to work effectively with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students, and have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills as well as information technology literacy (Microsoft Office). Preferred Qualifications Experience operating and maintaining manual manufacturing machines, including milling machines, lathes, and grinders. Experience with setup, maintenance, operation, and programming of CNC manufacturing machines such as vertical machining centers and turning centers. Knowledge of component inspection techniques to ensure precision and quality in manufacturing processes. Teaching experience in an academic or on‑the‑job training environment focusing on advanced manufacturing technologies. Salary $57,188 – $61,026 approximate annual, based on qualifications, education, and job‑related experience.
