Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Health & Environment Sr Manager to support a large, complex aviation construction project in Chicago.This senior-level role will lead and oversee safety, health, and environmental activities across the project. The ideal candidate will bring extensive construction safety leadership experience, preferably supporting major aviation, infrastructure, or other large-scale/mega construction projects.Assists the ES&H Director in the formulation and administration of the company's environmental safety and health policies and programs for the home office and field operations. Assists in the supervision of all ES&H activities and in the selection of related facilities/project personnel. Assists in the planning and conducting of training for project personnel and is responsible for ES&H in the areas of policy, procedures, inspection, regulatory compliance and incident investigation. May represent the Company on technical and professional committees and assists in local, State, Federal and industrial standards, codes or regulatory formation.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:BA/BS Occupational Safety or similar curriculum and 10 years of construction safety management experience or demonstrated equivalency and/ or education, including 2 years of leadership.Commercial Construction Safety Management experience.Valid drivers license.Preferred Qualifications:Undergraduate degree Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field such as Engineering.Demonstrated experience in Regulated Compliance, specifically: OSHA standardsEnvironmental Protection Agency (EPA)Department of Transportation (DOT)Recordkeeping proficiency in proper documentation procedures for incidents, audits, and training.Experience in:Risk assessment and mitigation.Safety program development.Continuous improvement.Incident investigation.Experience working on large-scale construction projects ($50+ million).CSP preferred.Experience developing and implementing safety training programs.Safety team leadership experience.Physical Demands:The following physical demands represent those typically required of individuals working in construction field roles, with or without accommodation. Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis.Work Environment:Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety.
