As a Mortgage Support Specialist you will provide essential back-office support throughout the mortgage process, including loan boarding, general ledger reconciliation, and appraisal desk coordination. This role requires strong knowledge of mortgage operations, attention to detail, and the ability to problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Mortgage Support Specialist Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately board newly originated loans into the servicing system; ensure data integrity and compliance with internal policies and investor guidelines.
• Monitor and reconcile mortgage-related general ledger accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage the appraisal ordering process, communicate with Appraisal Management Companies and loan officers/processors, and ensure timely delivery of appraisal reports.
• Review and upload loan documentation, maintain electronic filing systems, and ensure records are complete and compliant.
• Assist with special projects and provide backup support to other mortgage operations functions as needed.
• Ensure all tasks adhere to company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Consistently demonstrate a courteous, tactful and professional approach to dealing with members and internal customers in accordance with established customer service standards. Demonstrates concern and respect for others in all interactions and inspires their confidence and trust.
• Demonstrates effective face-to-face communications, and telephone interactions, in accordance with established customer service standards. Articulates ideas, including written communications in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner.
• Consistently demonstrate self-motivation and independent problem solving skills, requiring only minimal direct supervision, in order to maximize individual productivity and efficiency and attain member satisfaction. Proposes enhancements to work methods or procedures in order to improve process efficiency and/or the quality of results.

Mortgage Support Specialist Requirements:

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in mortgage operations, loan servicing, or a related financial services role.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations or accounting support is preferred. Prior exposure to appraisal management platforms or processes. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (FHA, VA, FHMA, etc.) is a plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Mortgage Support Specialist Compensation:

• Starting Salary: $24.74 - $26.20 hourly
• Bonus Opportunity: Eligible for ONE SCCU Annual Bonus.

Work Schedule

• Hybrid and Flexible Schedule Options: This position is hybrid with two days per week required in office.
• Monday Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
