Senior Data Center Facilities Engineer

Role Overview Track and monitor ongoing Data Center critical infrastructure maintenance and repair for all service lines to pre-defined service level agreements (SLAs). Manage incidents that impact Data Center infrastructure services and proactively resolve them. Conduct site reviews and assessments to evaluate suitability for data center builds. Act as the engineering representative on a wide range of moderately complex on-site scenarios related to mission critical systems, operations, and functionality. Provide engineering insight to ensure project or other design initiatives align with company expectations. Contribute to the identification of training programs for newer members of the team, acting as a subject matter expert and training others. Critical Environment Maintenance Support Track and monitor ongoing critical environment maintenance and repair for all service lines to pre-defined service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure service uptime is maintained to the highest standards and that faults are dealt with promptly. Employ practical operating knowledge of engineering systems to lead standard diagnostics and repairs, escalating blockers or obstacles when needed. Apply knowledge of Oracle processes, procedures, and industry standards to resolve routine issues. Offer suggestions for system-level enhancements to reduce potential problems. Evaluate the suitability of components, processes, or action plans. Incident Management and Operation Improvement Manage incidents that impact data center infrastructure and the proactive and timely resolution of such incidents. Collaborate with design, construction, commissioning, facility engineering, and data center operations teams to integrate new engineering design systems to existing data center. Proactively drive operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives. Evaluate and ensure the safe working practices of others. Participate in post-incident reviews by supporting root cause analyses, documenting lessons learned, and facilitating the execution of Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs) to mitigate recurrence and improve system resilience. Follow established emergency operations plans when responding to emergency incidents or abnormal events, stabilizing conditions and escalating critical issues as needed. Site Commissioning and Build Participate in site reviews and assessments to evaluate suitability for data center builds, gathering and analyzing technical, environmental, and infrastructure data to inform decision-making. Prepare and/or review technical reports to document findings, support recommendations, and communicate results to stakeholders. Participate in design reviews and commissioning activities to ensure alignment with engineering standards and project requirements. Review mechanical simulations (e.g., computational fluid dynamics [CFD] analyses) to assess airflow and thermal performance, identifying and recommending necessary design adjustments to optimize system efficiency and reliability, escalating as needed. Data Center Operations Management Support and validate on-site data centers operations in relation to the engineering infrastructure. Act as the engineering representative on a wide range of moderately complex on-site scenarios related to mission critical systems, operations, and functionality. Engage in communications to ensure that operational requirements and specifications are flagged, raised, and addressed by the appropriate team. Adhere to developed standards and policy through the review of documentation, participate in commissioning activities, design summits, and data center commissioning or reviews. Document critical impacting changes, review critical impacting changes and represent engineering in change advisory board (CAB) meetings. Engineering Design, Leadership, and Governance Collaborate with senior team members and support a project or other design and engineering initiatives. Provide engineering insight to ensure project or other design initiatives align with company expectations. Coordinate with internal and external project team members in delivering specific aspects of data centers for Oracle. Contribute to the development of policy documents by collaborating with team members. Contribute to the creation and upkeep of best-in-class policies and procedures, participating in their review as necessary. Prepare technical reports to document findings, communicate progress, and support project or design decision‑making. Training and Knowledge Sharing Contribute to the identification of training programs for newer members of the team. Act as a subject matter expert with many standard systems and train others on the team. Additional Responsibilities (as Needed) Provide input for effective contract administration, including supporting the generation and review of contracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents. Contribute to sourcing and ensuring that adequate resources are available, such as spare parts, generator fuel, water, and consumables. Coordinate vendor and contractor scheduling and site access, contribute to the execution and completion of work per Oracle expectations and safe‑working practices. Planning & Execution Manage and coordinate moderately complex tasks, monitoring timelines and deliverables to ensure timely completion and adherence to requirements for a moderately-sized project or initiative. Efficiently delegate, monitor, and prioritize work across multiple projects, providing technical oversight and adjusting plans to address shifts in resources or timelines. Collaboration & Partnership Collaborate across the organization to align on expectations and achieve shared objectives. Leverage understanding of business leaders, stakeholders, and/or customers to ensure proposed solutions meet their needs. Salary & Benefits US: Hiring Range in USD from: $102,300 - $209,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
