Pediatric Heart Failure-Heart Transplant Physician Shift: Mon-Fri (days vary), 8:00 am–5:00 pm. Employee Type: Full-Time. Posting #: 797193. Position Summary Phoenix Children’s – Division of Cardiology is actively seeking up to three full‑time faculty to join the Advanced Heart Failure–Cardiac Transplant Team. Candidates will start at the level of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Child Health, with the possibility of advancing to Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support. The program performs an average of 12–15 heart transplants annually, follows patients inpatient and outpatient, and supports a mechanical circulatory support program for pediatric and adult devices. Applicants must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree, be board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics, and be eligible for Arizona medical licensure. Candidates should have completed an ACGME-accredited 3‑year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology and an additional 1–2 years of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure, including transplant and mechanical circulatory support. The position does not currently accept J‑1 visa candidates. Position Duties Patient Care Services Provide direct patient care on an inpatient and outpatient basis, including subspecialty consultations and follow‑up. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic services and procedures. Provide urgent/emergent care as necessary. Strive to achieve best patient and family‑centered care. Support hospital patient‑satisfaction goals and division targets. Practice contemporary evidence‑based medicine. Divisional Responsibilities Establish and demonstrate effort to achieve annual physician goals and objectives. Support medical education programs and activities, including: Direct supervision of trainees and allied health professionals. Teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences. Participation in postgraduate continuing education. Support research endeavors of the division and initiatives by other members. Support programmatic growth of the division. Support satellite efforts when appropriate. Professionalism Treat colleagues, employees, and customers with courtesy, dignity, and respect. Promote a safe, cooperative, professional healthcare environment. Support Phoenix Children’s mission, vision, and values, including family‑centered care, excellence, leadership, collaboration, and accountability. Other Activities Support the Division Chief as liaison to the professional community and general public. Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside Phoenix Children’s if they support divisional clinical and teaching programs. Represent Phoenix Children’s in medical and business communities and before the public professionally. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested. Position Qualifications Education M.D. or D.O. degree. Board certified or board‑eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. Eligible for Arizona medical licensure.
