ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Role: RN – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Schedule:

• Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (combination of Fri/Sat/Sun)
• Patient ratios: 2:1 (days, nights, weekends)
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Requirements:

• Minimum years of RN ICU experience: 2
• Required critical care exposure: Cardiovascular ICU / Medical & Surgical ICU skills expected
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Experience with special patient types: STEMI, complex heart failure, post-code, complex cardiac with Impella/IABP support, LVAD (1+ year post), complex medical patients
• Charting system: Epic

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and interventions as necessary.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and recognize signs of infection in immunosuppressed patients.

Compliance / Notes:

• Vaccine requirements: Influenza vaccine is required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required.
• Max 7 days Request Time Off (RTO) must be finalized at submission.
