The Payroll Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our organization. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this position handles payroll for employees on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, including multiple states occasionally. The ideal candidate maintains strict confidentiality, manages payroll reconciliations, and supports compliance with tax and benefit deduction requirements using payroll systems such as ADP and QuickBooks Payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
• Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
• Manage employee timekeeping records and approvals
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Calculate and administer benefit deductions
• Generate payroll reports for management review
• Provide responsive customer service regarding payroll inquiries
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in payroll processing
• Proficient with payroll software such as ADP and Paychex
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective time management skills

Preferred Qualifications
