Sales Application Engineer

Young Industries, Inc. is seeking a motivated and technically minded Sales Applications Engineer to support customer applications, equipment selection, quotations, and technical proposal development for industrial material handling equipment. This position works closely with customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and outside vendors to help develop practical equipment solutions that meet customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects from initial inquiry through proposal and purchase order. Primary Responsibilities Communicate with customers to understand application requirements and equipment needs. Recommend appropriate industrial equipment or system solutions. Prepare equipment selections, pricing, quotations, and technical proposals. Work with engineering and manufacturing to obtain drawings, sketches, specifications, and technical information for proposals. Follow up with customers to answer questions and help advance quotations toward purchase orders. Review customer specifications, drawings, and related documents as needed. Assist with product testing, customer visits, site visits, and trade shows as required. Maintain accurate project records and support long‑term customer relationships. Key Skills Mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment Technical sales and customer application support Quotation, pricing, and proposal preparation Ability to review specifications, sketches, drawings, or technical documents Strong customer communication and follow‑up skills Problem‑solving and analytical thinking Organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Qualifications Previous experience in technical sales, applications engineering, project engineering, industrial equipment, or a related field preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand customer applications and equipment requirements. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Associate degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent technical sales or industry experience may be considered. Schedule This is a full‑time position. The employee must be available during core office hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening, weekend, or travel may be required based on business needs.
