Research Technician

Temporary Research Tech III - Physics (Pool) Please Note: This is a temporary position. The length of the assignment is based on department need, with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31‑day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines. Job Summary Work involves conducting complex experiments according to previously adapted and outlined procedures and techniques utilized in a specific research laboratory. Responsibilities include planning methods and techniques for physical, chemical, and biological tests, carrying out procedures, recording results, and performing preliminary interpretation of results. Work requires independent judgment, literature review for possible procedures, and the ability to adapt or change procedures to suit the experiment. Educational & Experience Requirements Minimum education: Bachelor of Science degree (preferably in physics or a related field).
