Position Summary Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist. Key Responsibilities Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures. Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique. Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique. Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed. Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities. Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing. Additional Responsibilities (LevelII) Assist in training/mentoring of new IV Technicians as assigned. Knowledge & Skills Working knowledge of technical field or area of specialization. Application of principles, theories, and concepts. Following established procedures and guidelines. Works under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions. Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. Limited judgement in resolving problems. Primarily contacts direct supervisor, peers, and subordinates. Sterile compounding experience is not required; training will be provided. Qualifications – Education / Experience / Training High school diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent required. 0–2 years related experience required. Applicable industry/professional certification required. cGMP training/experience desired; training will be provided. Aseptic processing training/experience desired; training will be provided. Work Schedule & Compensation 4×10 schedule weekdays and every other weekend from 8 am to 6:30 pm. Holidays/overtime as needed. Salary range: $19.21 – $22.89 per hour.
