Key Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Obtains and monitors physiological data; observes physiological manifestations and intervenes when necessary
• Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products
• Performs phlebotomy, basic laboratory procedures, wound cultures, Point of Care testing, EKGs, and breathing treatments within scope of practice
• Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Two or more years of experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and general computer applications
