Mental Health TechnicianPosition: Mental Health TechnicianType: Hourly, Full-Time, Non-ExemptCompensation: $23 hourlyBenefits:Health Insurance (Medical, Vision, Dental)PTO (Vacation, Sick)Equity Shares (ESOP)Shifts:AM (6:30am - 3:00pm)PM (2:30pm - 11:00pm)NOC (10:30pm - 7:00am)Program Description:The Program is a 14-Bed Crisis Stabilization Mental Health Residential Facility. This program will treat high acuity clients with mental health disorders such as: Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia, Depression, Anxiety, etc. Due to the nature of the clients treated at this program, and the relevant governing body (DSS and DHCS) requirements, candidates with a background of treating mental health clients in a crisis setting are strongly preferred.Key Responsibilities:Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. "rounds").Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).Requirements:Qualifications:License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required); Candidates with EMT/CMA/CNA who are willing to get their RADT/SUDRC/RAC are encouraged to applyEducation: High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)Experience: 1+ years of behavioral healthcare experience (preferred)Additional:Valid CA Driver's License (required)Current Health Screen / Physical (required)TB Test Clearance (required)Important Qualities:Compassion for clients and employees in all interactionsStrong professional ethics, boundaries, and integrityPositive attitude and emotional composureValues of ownership, accountability, and reliabilityCompany Description:Akua Behavioral Health is California's leading mental health and substance abuse treatment center.
