Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor – Stick Electrode Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the control, accuracy, and flow of all raw materials, consumables, and finished goods supporting stick electrode production. This role ensures uninterrupted production supply, strict inventory accuracy, and compliant handling of powders and hazardous materials, while maintaining efficient and safe warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Support & Material Flow

· Ensure continuous and accurate supply of raw materials to production lines (core wire, flux powders, binders, packaging)

· Coordinate with Production to prioritize material staging based on the production plan

· Prevent line stoppages due to material shortages, delays, or misallocation

· Manage return of unused materials and ensure proper reintegration into inventory

2. Inventory Accuracy & Batch Control

· Maintain strict inventory accuracy across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

· Ensure lot/batch traceability for all materials, especially flux components and alloying elements

· Lead cycle counts and physical inventories

· Investigate discrepancies and implement root cause corrective actions (not just adjustments)

3. Receiving & Purchase Order Verification

· Ensure all incoming materials are received only against an approved Purchase Order (PO)

· Verify that all deliveries match the PO and supplier documentation in terms of:

o Quantity

o Material description

o Batch/lot numbers (if applicable)

o Labels and identification

· Inspect incoming materials for damage, contamination, or non-conformity

· Ensure all required documentation is collected and retained (packing list, certificates of analysis if applicable)

· Record all receipts accurately and timely in the ERP system

· Segregate and clearly identify any non-conforming, damaged, or unidentified materials, and prevent their use until resolved with Quality and Purchasing

4. Raw Material Handling

· Oversee proper storage and handling of:

o Flux powders (rutile, limestone, fluorspar, chemicals, etc.)

o Metallic additives (FeMn, FeSi, FeCr, etc.)

o Binders and liquid components

· Ensure materials are protected from moisture contamination, segregation, and mix-ups

· Enforce FIFO inventory practices where applicable

5. Finished Goods & Shipping

· Ensure proper storage, identification, and segregation of finished electrodes by type, batch, and customer

· Verify accuracy of outbound shipments (product, quantity, labeling, documentation)

· Coordinate with logistics to meet delivery schedules

· Prevent shipment errors and non-conforming deliveries

6. Safety & Environmental Compliance

· Enforce safe handling of powders, dust-generating materials, and heavy loads

· Ensure compliance with safety standards (PPE, ventilation, dust control, equipment operation)

· Maintain housekeeping standards to prevent contamination and safety hazards

· Ensure proper use, care, and accountability of all warehouses fixed assets (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, racking systems, and handling equipment)

7. Team Leadership

· Supervise warehouse personnel (task assignment, scheduling, performance management)

· Train team members on procedures, ERP transactions, and safety requirements

· Enforce discipline, accountability, and adherence to processes

· Promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement

8. Process Control & Continuous Improvement

· Enforce strict adherence to warehouse procedures and inventory controls

· Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in layout, flow, and handling

· Work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Purchasing to resolve systemic issues

· Drive continuous improvement in accuracy, efficiency, and reliability

· Inventory accuracy (target: >98–99%)

· Batch/lot traceability compliance (100%)

· Error-free shipments (100%)

Qualifications

· 3–5+ years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment (metals, chemicals, or similar preferred)

· Supervisory experience required

· Strong understanding of inventory control and material traceability

· Experience with ERP/MRP systems

· Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
