About This Role
We are seeking a Group Teacher to join our team and provide a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment for children in the Queensbury School District. Our ideal candidate is an energetic and enthusiastic individual willing to fill the position in both our morning and afternoon sessions.
This part-time position involves working 6:45am - 9:00/9:30am AND 2:30pm - 5:30pm, following the Queensbury School District calendar.
What You'll Do- Work with staff to develop and implement age-appropriate crafts and activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children on the playground and in the classroom.
- Implement curriculum within established guidelines, designing daily lesson/activity plans to promote children's development.
- Maintain positive relationships with parents through ongoing communication and collaboration.
- Ensure the program room and equipment are well-maintained and meet licensing regulations.
- Make systematic observations and evaluations of each child, providing feedback to parents as needed.
- Attend and participate in program activities, staff meetings, and required trainings, adhering to New York State OCFS School Aged Child Care Regulations.
- Develop and implement daily lesson/activity plans, working closely with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and engaging program.
- Supervise children during activities and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Abide by all licensing regulations and assist the School Aged Childcare Director with assigned duties.
- Maintain required program records and attend to other responsibilities as needed.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by the New York Office of Child and Family Services.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience with diverse populations and ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age- appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
Prior education or college credits in a field related to education are a plus.
