Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled nurse to join our 4 South unit team in Alexandria, Louisiana. This position requires strong nursing competency, excellent assessment skills, and the ability to manage a variety of patient needs.

Unit Details

Number of Beds: 36
Patient Ratios: 1:6
Unit Staffing: Two unit secretaries available from 0600-2200 daily and patient care techs accessible at all times.

Equipment and Documentation

Equipment: Telemetry in each room, monitors at each station, Dynamaps for vital signs, glucometers, iMobile phones, bladder scanners.
Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling and Requirements

Shift: 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required
Floating Policy: Nurses may be required to float to other units as needed

Patient Experience Expectations

Hourly rounding
Bedside shift report
Implementation of My Care Boards
Utilization of AIDET principles

Qualifications

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Advanced Skills: Telemetry rhythm interpretation
Strong Nursing Background: Thorough assessment skills and attention to detail
Personal Attributes: Positive attitude, flexibility, dependability, teamwork, self-motivation, strong communication skills, accountability, and the ability to multitask in stressful situations.

Additional Information

Unit Guidelines and Policies will be provided to selected candidates.
