About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Recent experience with Cerner within the past 6 months Description: Unit will conduct a phone interview after profile review. Recent experience with Cerner is a hard requirement. A pass/fail exam is required on the first day. Study guides will be provided with first-day instructions. A Dysrhythmia exam is required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance of the position. A maximum of two attempts is allowed for the exam. Unit includes both pre-operative and post-anesthesia care. Total of 12 beds available in the PACU. Charge Nurses supervise each location. Patient care includes various specialties such as general, orthopedic, spine, gynecological, endoscopic, vascular, and cystoscopic surgeries. Common patient diagnoses are related to pre and post-surgical procedures. Some call shifts will be required, usually six per month. The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. Shifts will vary between early morning and evening. Floating between perioperative locations is expected. Floor-specific orientation will be provided. Emergency medical services and pharmacy support are available 24/7. Required ratio is 2 patients to 1 registered nurse.
