TIG Welder

New Tech Global is currently seeking a TIG Welder for an opportunity in Cedar Park, Texas.

This position is responsible for fitting, assembling, welding, and finishing precision sheet metal and fabricated components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will produce high-quality welds while working from engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions, ensuring all products meet quality and safety standards.
Shift:

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Overtime may begin as early as 5:00 AM and/or extend beyond 2:30 PM based on production needs.
• Shop is currently working approximately 56 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
• Perform fit-up, tack welding, GTAW (TIG) welding, grinding, and finishing operations.
• Fabricate and assemble carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
• Weld thin-gauge sheet metal and fabricated assemblies up to .036" material thickness.
• Perform spot welding, stud welding, and robotic welding operations.
• Install PEM hardware including rivet nuts, inserts, studs, and related hardware.
• Perform drilling, tapping, countersinking, and secondary fabrication operations.
• Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
• Accurately complete production documentation and work order transactions.
• Support production schedules while maintaining established quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
• Follow all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated GTAW (TIG) welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Experience with thin-gauge sheet metal fabrication.
• Experience with fit-up and assembly.
• Experience with spot welding and stud welding.
• Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to perform welding, fabrication, grinding, and finishing operations for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to accurately inspect completed welds and fabricated components.
• Strong understanding of shop safety practices.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Top Requirements

• Previous experience welding sheet metal, including material as thin as .036 gauge.
• Experience welding aluminum and/or stainless steel is highly preferred.
• Ability to consistently produce clean, high-quality welds.
• Strong fit-up and fabrication skills.
• Immediate availability to start, if selected.
