Your Responsibilities

• Performing comprehensive evaluations of patients, ordering essential diagnostic tests, and developing customized care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute or chronic illnesses, either independently or in collaboration with physicians, depending on your credentials
• Educating patients and their families about preventive care, wellness, and managing illnesses
• Prescribing appropriate medications and therapies in accordance with your professional scope
• Engaging in patient follow-up and management of chronic care
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated, comprehensive care
• Accurately and thoroughly documenting all care within electronic medical records (EMR)

Education Needed

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Certifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner licensing in Texas
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to acquire within 90 days)
