Veterinarian - Hillcrest Animal Hospital

Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled full‑time Veterinarian to join our team. The candidate will provide high‑quality veterinary care and build lasting relationships with clients, working closely with experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, as well as the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager. Hillcrest Animal Hospital, located in Bartlett, Tennessee (near Memphis), is a well‑established practice with a fully equipped surgical suite for orthopedic and soft tissue procedures. Advanced diagnostic tools including an Abaxis suite, digital radiology, ultrasound, Tonopen and Doppler blood pressure unit, therapeutic laser, and stem cell therapy equipment are available. Location Bartlett, Tennessee (near Memphis) Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Communicate and educate clients Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintain accurate medical records Handle pharmacy duties, including prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds to uphold high standards Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by Management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university Current State Veterinary License DEA registration must be obtained and maintained 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills with both staff and clients Commitment to compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care Ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and timely with all medical and hospital staff Proficiency in eliciting information and establishing rapport with pet owners Confidence and reassurance when handling stressed or ill pets Physical capability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed Ability to perform moderately physically demanding work and lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical knowledge and skill in comprehensive examinations and prescribing appropriate treatment Problem‑solving abilities for high‑quality hospital management Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism in providing and receiving constructive feedback Business acumen for understanding hospital finances and management Ethical grounding in patient‑care decisions Commitment to continuing education and facilitating learning for others What We Offer We care deeply about supporting our team members professionally and personally.
