PRODUCT MANAGER, Data Platform

Position Overview PRODUCT MANAGER, Data Platform – A role within Zelis’s enterprise Data and Technology team. The Product Manager will orchestrate the product lifecycle of an internal data platform, working closely with engineering leads to define business requirements, coordinate with technical and non‑technical teams, and facilitate a robust pipeline for internal use cases. Responsibilities Become an expert in product areas, acting as the go‑to person for stakeholders before engaging technical teams. Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and product teams to scope new or refine existing platform features and data capabilities that increase business value, adoption, and user engagement. Draft clear and concise business requirements and technical product documentation. Interface with engineering and product teams to manage the intake process for new requests. Understand how product areas link into the wider roadmap and highlight dependencies and growth opportunities. Define key performance indicators to evaluate product success. Act as the voice of the customer in technical discussions and facilitate relationships between application teams and technical data teams. Work with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, architecture, operations, product, marketing, partnerships, and customer success. Collaborate with technical product analysts to support engineering teams through the delivery lifecycle. Experience and Qualifications 3+ years of technical product management experience with a proven ability to define scope and deliver alongside technical teams. Strong listening skills, ability to identify requirements, gaps, and barriers, and translate needs into product features. Technical depth that enables collaboration with software and data engineers on design of data visualizations, models, ETLs, and data infrastructure deployments. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Deep understanding of Data Management, Data Engineering, ETLs, Cloud Engineering, and Product Analytics concepts, and familiarity with tools such as SQL, Python, R, Spark, AWS, Azure, Airflow, Snowflake, and PowerBI. Knowledge of Data Privacy, Governance, Masking, and Role‑Based Access Controls. Experience with Agile frameworks and product tools such as Jira and Confluence. Open to candidates with B2B or B2C experience outside the healthcare industry; intellectual curiosity, self‑starter attitude, and a track record of building data products are essential. We support a hybrid and remote‑friendly culture, and work location is determined by the needs of the position and leadership decisions. Compensation Base Salary Range: $115,000.00 – $145,350.00. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses, commissions, and other incentives.
