Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer (Onsite - Sterling, VA) Top Secret Clearance required

What You Will Do Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) security requirements. Architect, deploy, and optimize enterprise network solutions, enhancing performance, scalability, and security across existing and new infrastructure. Configure, build, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux operating system environments in accordance with security and operational best practices. Support the Government Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in RMF accreditation efforts, including documentation development, control implementation, assessment coordination, and continuous monitoring activities. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, and switches to ensure optimal network performance, segmentation, and security posture. Validate and verify hardware and software functionality through testing, diagnostics, and performance evaluation. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational workflows to ensure consistent and secure system administration. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Linux or Windows experience. Experience with Active Directory, VMware, administration, backup and recovery. Qualifications We Prefer Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification). Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF. Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions. Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, ESX and/or other virtual computing methods. Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
