Senior SQL Database EngineerNextStep Recruiting has partnered with a financial services organization to identify a Senior SQL Database Engineer in Dallas, TX. This role is hybrid and will support enterprise SQL Server environments while playing a key role in the organization's migration from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.This position is ideal for an experienced SQL DBA who combines deep database administration skills with growing cloud expertise. The right candidate is technically strong, communicates well across teams, and is comfortable taking ownership of database performance, availability, and modernization initiatives.Required:7+ years of SQL Server database administration or closely related database engineering experienceStrong T-SQL skills with hands-on experience in performance tuning, indexing, backups, restores, and database optimizationExperience administering highly available SQL environments, including HA/DR and replication technologiesHands-on Microsoft Azure experience with demonstrated involvement in on-premises to cloud database migrationsStrong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across data, infrastructure, and application teamsPreferred:Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Data Lake, or related Microsoft cloud data servicesMicrosoft Fabric experience, including Lakehouse or Data Warehouse environmentsExperience with database replication technologies and SQL log shippingPowerShell, Python, CI/CD, or Azure DevOps automation experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related disciplineThis is a strong opportunity for an experienced SQL DBA who wants to remain hands-on while gaining significant exposure to Azure modernization and next-generation Microsoft data platforms.NextStep Recruiting provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants regardless of race, color, or applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location where the company has facilities.
