Facilities Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility equipment, utilities, building systems, and grounds to ensure a safe, reliable, and productive work environment. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance, supports facility improvement projects, assists with contractor activities, and ensures compliance with all safety and environmental requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems, utilities, infrastructure, and grounds. Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, compressed air, fire protection, and other building systems. Maintain and support facility utility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, natural gas, water, wastewater, and building automation systems. Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs while minimizing operational disruptions. Conduct routine inspections to identify, document, and correct facility deficiencies. Complete assigned work orders and accurately document maintenance activities within SAP, CMMS, or other maintenance management systems. Support facility upgrades, equipment relocations, building modifications, and capital projects. Maintain facility grounds, parking areas, walkways, docks, doors, and exterior infrastructure. Assist with seasonal preparation, weather events, and facility recovery efforts. Support contractor activities and ensure compliance with site safety requirements and established procedures. Follow all OSHA, environmental, lockout/tagout, and company safety standards. Participate in safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation. Identify and report unsafe conditions and assist in eliminating workplace hazards. Support root cause investigations, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Recommend solutions that improve safety, efficiency, equipment reliability, and cost performance. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical training, trade certification, or associate degree preferred. Three or more years of industrial, commercial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred. Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility utility systems. Experience in maintaining building infrastructure, compressed air systems, water systems, natural gas systems, and facility equipment.
